Hi Teresa

I completely agree. It sometimes feels like a big responsibility monitoring everything our children "consume" and when. However, it also a blessing for me when it means sharing the reading experience with them.

My 3 year old son loves to hear me read (or tell) a story before bed. It soothes him; If the story is light and fun (no alligators, dinosaurs, etc) then he isn't afraid to fall asleep. I would never read him a story about knights or dragons, because his imagination is so wonderful that any shadow or shape would become a monster once I left the room.
